The first step in assembling any Berkey Water Filter is washing it out. Then you attach the spigot and any needed plugs for the holes, if you don’t have extra filters. You must prime the Black Berkey Filters and then attach them to the upper chamber. Screw on the handle to the lid, stack up the upper and lower chambers and you’re all set!
All you need to do to filter water through a Berkey Water Filter is pour water into the upper chamber and let gravity do the rest. It will pass through the filter elements, be cleaned, and pour into the lower chamber. You can use the spigot to access the clean water.
